Sigma Alpha Epsilon brings Refuse To Be A Victim to Georgia Tech

RTBAV SAE GT

On Saturday October 26th, representatives of Sigma Alpha Epsilon from around Georgia will convene for their annual meeting at Georgia Tech. A portion of this meeting will be dedicated to a Refuse To Be A Victim seminar being offered to improve the safety knowledge of those members in attendance. This session, being led by No Victims’ volunteer certified instructor Matt Podowitz, is also being taught to promote the idea of bringing this important safety course to college students across Georgia — students that increasingly are being targeted by petty and violent criminals on and near their campuses.

As is the case with all Refuse To Be A Victim Seminars, topics covered will include:

  • Safety in the home (in this case, focusing on dormitories, apartments, and fraternity houses)
  • Safety in one’s car and on public transport
  • Safety in public (whether on-campus or off-campus) and while traveling
  • Safety online

As this particular Refuse To Be A Victim seminar is for college students specifically, it also will include an additional module on campus safety that addresses topics pertinent to college students.

This Refuse To Be A Victim seminar is invitation-only for Sigma Alpha Epsilon conference participants. However, if you would like to bring this important personal safety seminar to your or your children’s college or university or to your community association, please use the Contact tab above to send a request for information. No Victims’ volunteer certified instructor teaches this course for free as a community service (but does ask to be reimbursed for out of pocket expenses).
